The first trailer for the upcoming sequel PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING has finally dropped.  Slated for release on March 23, 2018 this new sequel stars John Boyega as Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba from the first film), reunites with Mako  Mori to lead a brand new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.  Steven D. Night is taking over directing duties from Guillermo del Toro for the new film.

I enjoyed the first PACIFIC RIM, but I’m not sure if it was because the movie itself was good or because I enjoyed Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnan.  Either way, the new film looks good and I’m sure I’ll see it.  Not just because it’s looks entertaining but because I enjoy John Boyega and Scott Eastwood as well.
