Full disclosure: I’m not the biggest fan of superhero movies.  They’re not bad but I’m pretty indifferent to the genre.  Sure, there’s a few that stick out that I really like.  DEADPOOL, THE DARK KNIGHT, KICKASS and THE CAPTAIN AMERICA films are probably my favs.  So when BLACK PANTHER I was fairly ambivalent.  I knew nothing of the character except that he’s one of the few Black superheroes.  I first saw him in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR where he (along with the new Spider-Man) really made a big impression on me.  He, of course, will now have his own solo film.

 

According to IMDB the movie tells the story of T’Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.

 

 

 

 

Not only does the trailer look bad ass, the movie also features an all-star cast featuring Chadwick Boseman, Anglea Bassett, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o and Martin Freeman.  This new trailer looks and feels different from the typical Marvel movie trailer so here’s hoping the new movie becomes one of my new favorite superhero films.
