Shout! Factory announces ‘Critters’ box set.

“Kill Crites!” Why don’t we discuss the wonderful and underappreciated Critters series more?  These outer space killers appeared in four mostly good films, each with a distinctly different take on the creatures.  The first movie was a mostly effective horror tale about a family being attached by the crites.  The second film played up the camp factor as the entire rural town was under siege.  The third film moved the action from the country to the city where the space-killers attack an apartment building.  The fourth… well the fourth takes place in outer space.  Plus, this series brought us Leonardo DiCaprio in his first film role and Angela Bassett in one of her earlier film roles.   In case you need to get caught up with killer porcupines, Shout! Factory has announced that all 4 installments will be released on Blu-ray in an exclusive box set.

Set for release on November 27th, this Shout! Factory collection will include all 4 films and special bonus features for each.  You can preorder here.
