Okay, sorry for the misleading title. This, of course, is not the story of Superman/Clark Kent. BRIGHTBURN does, however, play like an evil Superman story. From Producer James Gunn (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY; Twitter) BRIGHTBURN is the story of a young boy from another planet, taken in by a farm-dwelling couple. What starts out as the story of a seemingly normal kid turns into a story about a kid who possesses dark superpowers. Per the official synopsis:
“What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister.”
Starring Elizabeth Banks (literally everything in the last 10 years) and David Denman (TVs THE OFFICE) BRIGHTBURN is set for release on May 24, 2019.
Hmmm.. don’t know how I feel… I’d give it a watch though.

I’m looking forward to it- only because it’s not a sequel/reboot/remake/adaptation.

Yes. I take, you don’t like remakes?

I don’t have a problem with them. In fact, some of my favorite horror films recently were remakes. I’m just a stoked there’s something new and (mostly) original coming.

Yes I feel. What’s your favorite horror remake?

Hmmm I have a few. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Maniac, I Spit On Your Grave and Evil Dead, The Thing, The Fly and The Blob come to mind automatically. How about yours?

TCM hands down. Also, The Hills Have Eyes. I liked the Amityville Horror, House of Wax, The Last House on the Left, to name a few. 😀

Totally forgot about the HILLS and LAST HOUSE remakes. Those are great ones too. Not really Horror per se but Little Shop of Horrors can be included.

Yes. Wes Craven is a genius. 😀 I don’t always graviate towards the gore though. The Strangers is REALLY good. Its horror is subtle.

The Strangers is great. I’ve come around on the sequel.

Isn’t it? Ugh, so good. Haven’t seen the sequel, I’ll come around it. Well, I take your a horror fan like me. Would you be interested in reading a screenplay I wrote? I haven’t gotten it into the hands of producers mainly because I have no connections and I’m still polishing it. But any feedback would be awesome.
