Let’s face it- it’s hard to follow in the steps of Guillermo Del Toro’s visionary triumphs.  Unfortunately, we’re reminded of this with the new official trailer for the upcoming HELLBOY reboot, directed by the usually reliable Neil Marshall.  Starring David Harbor (taking over the titular role from Ron Pearlman). This new take seems to look more like a PG-13-CGI version of the original series.  The official synopsis follows Hellboy, who is caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.  This is just the first trailer so hopefully, the next one shows improvement.  However, I’m sure this entry will still satisfy fans as Harbour is a very solid choice as Hellboy and his makeup looks pretty badass.  Plus the (severely) underrated Mila Jovovich also stars alongside Daniel Dae Kim and Ian McShane.

The new HELLBOY reboot is scheduled for release on April 12, 2019.
