Would y’all stop going in the water trying to explore shit?  We have our first look at the upcoming 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED.  This sequel to the surprise box office smash  47 METERS DOWN is once again directed by  Johannes Roberts (who also directed STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT which despite my earlier review I’ve come to love).  The trailer is fairly intense amid its gorgeous Brazilian backdrop and looks like it will double down on the claustrophobic feeling of the first film to bring us more toothy terror (I tried).  Underwater horror movies freak me out so of course, I’ll be there opening weekend.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the plot follows “Four teens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.” 

2 of those 4 teens are the daughters of Jamie Foxx and Sylvester Stallone.  I don’t think it matters which one is which right now.  Also, why didn’t anybody tell me Nia Long was in this?  Love her!

47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED is scheduled for theatrical release this August 16th.   Were you a fan of the first film?  Let me know in the comments.
