Here I was enjoying the last day of my self-appointed blogging sabbatical and then New Line makes me open my laptop and turn off Missy Elliott videos on YouTube thanks to the new CONJURING news. It was announced today that the next film will go rogue with a new title and the official reveal of the plot. THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT “reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.” Funny, this sounds eerily similar to my earlier guess...mostly.

As previously reported, THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA’s Michael Chaves is taking over directing duties from series creator James Wan. Fortunately Tight Pants Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are returning. THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT is scheduled for release in SEPTEMBER 2020. Stayed tuned here for more news and images as they emerge.
