The trailer for the upcoming CRAFT movie has been released and so now we can all relax. THE CRAFT: LEGACY, which has been confirmed to be a sequel instead of a remake to the 1996 classic, will be released on VOD on October 28th. Since we’re not getting HALLOWEEN KILLS this year afterall, Blumhouse figured this will have to do. The film, which was written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones follows a similar beat to the original. A new girl in town quickly befriends a group of three social outcasts and forms a coven. Things become tricky as the power that once gave them everything wanted has a dark side that proves more powerful than they bargained for.
To be totally honest, this film looks a lot better than I expected it to. The teens actually look like teens and the film doesn’t look like a carbon copy of the original. Plus… no obvious wigs. It’s like comparing the new CHARMED to the old CHARMED. Let’s see if the CW creates another show next year about a group of witches and use the same soundtrack from this film. THE CRAFT: LEGACY stars Cailee Spaeny, Lovie Simone,Gideon Adlon, Zoey Luna and has an impressive supporting cast including Michelle Monaghan, David Duchovny.
