Rejoice! Your new favorite Christmas-set horror movie has arrived. Writer-Director, Scott Dunn’s highly anticipated follow-up, MANDAO RETURNS, is now available to view on Amazon Prime Video. The sequel to indie-fav MANDAO OF THE DEAD brings back our hero, Jay Mandao, in all his astral-projecting glory. The official synopsis follows:

Jay Mandao is not your average hero. He’s an astral projecting time traveler who spends his days hanging with his adult nephew Jackson, crashing on his scheming cousin Andy’s couch, and riding with his cabbie friend Fer. In the days leading up to Christmas, Jay tries to make contact with his deceased father Raymond, but ends up contacting the ghost of B-movie star, Aura Garcia. Aura enlists the gang to astral project back in time to prevent her death. Jay quickly finds out that the more he messes with time, the more he falls down a rabbit hole of cults, conspiracies, and death. This Christmas is gonna kick astral!

MANDAO RETURNS is a slice of fun and exactly what we need to close out a predominately shit year. Unlike most second films of a planned trilogy, this sequel is actually entertaining to watch from beginning to end and expanded the pathos of the original story in an organic and unforced way. Everyone is on their A-game here and it’s refreshing to see the growth in a writer-director in a story that’s, both, unique and compelling.
