New images promoting the upcoming SAW spinoff were teased today, including by star Chris Rock and director Darren Bousman. With the caption “🌀tomorrow” I can only assume we’ll get a new trailer for the upcoming spinoff SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW tomorrow. That absurdly long title is so extra but I love it anyway. The new film, which is based off an idea from Rock, was originally scheduled for theaters last May. However those plans were delayed due to the worldwide pandemic and eventually moved to May 14th of this year. Hopefully the maskless spring breakers in Florida haven’t ruined it for us and we can finally see finally SPIRAL in theaters this May. The official synopsis is below.
“Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.”
Sounds more interesting than the last few SAW movies (OMG- remember JIGSAW?). Are you looking forward to SPIRAL: FROM THE BOOK OF SAW? It could be the first major horror release as theaters are opening back up.
