It was only a matter of time after Netflix turned the failed Lifetime series, YOU, into a bonafide hit before the streaming giant started producing their own Lifetime-styled movies. Holiday films notwithstanding, of course. The trailer for the Nia Long and Omar Epps-led, FATAL AFFAIR, has been released and I honestly can’t wait to watch this movie. I love a movie about an obsessive lover. As if the title alone doesn’t tell you everything you need to know, the official synopsis is below:

Ellie (Nia Long) tries to mend her marriage with her husband Marcus (Stephen Bishop) after a brief encounter with an old friend, David (Omar Epps), only to find that David is more dangerous and unstable than she’d realized.

Y’all! I can’t wait! An unhappy wife living a picture-perfect life? Check! A handsome coworker who becomes obsessed? Check! Do our main characters work for a large firm in a major metropolitan area? Check! This movie will be insane in the best and goriest possible way. We know exactly what’s going to happen and even when it happens but this looks like absolute fun. I’m going to make sure I have my popcorn and red wine ready. FATAL AFFAIR, which is so close to the title FATAL ATTRACTION, will begin streaming on Netflix on July 16th.
